HUMOUR FACTORY SUBMISSIONS TERMS & CONDITIONS

From the 16th of June 2023, we’re opening up submissions for entries to be put forward to be considered in our new Humour Factory collection to be launched in 2024. Whether you’re a greetings card designer or have a talent for great design complete with hilarious jokes, we’d love to hear from you. If your design is chosen, we’ll include your submission in our 2024 launch at the NEC, Spring Fair, to sell across the UK and Worldwide. What’s more, we’ll pay you for each successful submission. 


Submissions are invited by The Great British Card Company of Unit 3, St Modwen Park, Stonehouse, Gloucester GL10 3EZ. Entries are unlimited. 


The full rules for entering the competition are below: 


GENERAL RULES 

1. We’re looking for designs to be included in our Humour Factory 2024 collection. 

2. Designs should appeal to a wide audience. 

3. Jokes must appeal to the whole family, not include topical humour, swearing or content that may be offensive in any way. 

4. If selected, designs will be sold exclusively under The Great British Card Company have the right to sell to customers of The Great British Card Company across the UK and Worldwide. 

5. Submitted designs must be a minimum of 121 x 171mm. 

6. Entrants must be a minimum of 16 years old. 

7. Entrants are welcomed to submit unlimited entries. 

8. The closing date for first round of submissions is 31st July 2023. 

9. To qualify for entry, images must be summited via our humour submissions page: http://www.greatbritishcards.co.uk/humour-factory please fill in the submission form with as much detail as possible and attach a high res file. 

10. The Great British Card Company cannot accept any responsibility for any problem with the internet service provider, network or other system which may result in any entry being delayed or not properly registered. 

11. Hard copies of artwork received by post are ineligible. 

13. Entries which have already been published as a greeting card are ineligible. (Print on demand site designs are acceptable). 

14. The competition is open to UK residents only (including residents of the Channel Islands and Isle of Man). Employees of The Great British card Company or the Swantex Group, as well as their immediate families are not eligible to enter. 

15. Entries must be your own work. 

16. Unsuccessful entrants will not be contacted and no feedback on any entry will be provided. 

17. It is the person’s responsibility to ensure no copyrights have been breached. The Great British Card Company will not be held responsible for breach of copyright. 


USE OF YOUR INFORMATION 

a. The Great British Card Company is the data controller. Our contact details are The Great British Card Company, 3 St Modwen Park, Stonehouse, Gloucester GL10 3EZ. We may use your name and contact details to contact you if your design is selected and for our reasonable promotional and publicity about new launches (on the legal basis of your consent). 

b. By submitting your entry, you agree to participate without charge in reasonable promotional activity if your design is selected, including being featured in website articles, on our social media channels and industry media such as Progressive Greetings. 

c. We are required to keep records and publish or provide on request the name and basic details about any successful entrant’s PR or social media around the winner’s story. If your design is selected, we will keep a record of 

your information for up to six years. If your design is not selected, we will delete your information within 12 months of the closing date of the competition. We will not transfer your data outside of the European Economic Area. 

d. You have rights to request: (i) a copy of your personal information; (ii) corrections to it; or (iii) erasure of it. You also have other legal rights, including a right to withdraw your consent, to object to our use of your information or to complain about the use of your data to the Information Commissioner’s Office. e. If you do not provide your information to us or you request that we erase your personal information prior to the judging taking place, you will not be able to participate in the competition. Where we rely on your consent to process your personal information, as outlined above, you are free to withdraw this at any time
