The use of board approved by the FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) is just one of the measures we are highlighting to re-state our ethical and environmental credentials for 2015

The Great British Card Company has long been committed to ensuring all the board we use in our greetings cards and allied stationery products is sourced from well-managed forests that have been certified to credible certification standards. As such we undertake to ensure 100% of our products are manufactured from FSC materials. We will publish an annual update on our website to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to maintaining this policy.

Additionally, at our Gloucester Head Office we have a full programme of recycling initiatives, reducing waste and enabling re-use. 87% of waste we produce is now recycled, which includes

  • All paper and cardboard
  • Plastic receptacles
  • Shrink film and pallet wrap
  • Aluminium cans
  • Returned cards and envelopes

Working with our local supplier Printwaste, (, we ensure that all materials are properly segregated prior to their removal for recycling.

The Great British Card Company has a fleet of motor vehicles, during the first half of 2015, all of these will be reviewed to ensure that the CO2 emission levels are firstly acceptable and then to see what other initiatives can be taken to drive these down further.

Internally we have ethical, environmental and health & safety committees which meet on a regular basis. Click here to view the Company’s current Environmental Policy
